The Building Safety Division issued 155 building permits in July, with total construction for the month valued at $3,026,379.  Total permit fees assessed for the month were $30,856.  Monthly and year to date comparisons to previous years will be tracked throughout 2011 in the following table:

Staff issued three permits for new residential construction in July, all single-family dwellings.  Permits were issued for 18 new residential projects in July last year, including 13 single-family dwellings and five apartment buildings with 96 dwelling units.  Monthly and year-to-date statistics for total permits issued and new residential projects will be tracked in the following table, similar to permit valuation and fees:

The highest valued project for the month is for the construction of a Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers store at 1301 W 23rd Street, valued at $950,000.  The only public project for the month was a permit for pedestrian lighting at 1100 Indiana Street, with work valued at $15,000.
