PROTECTIVE BODY ARMOR – POLICE DEPARTMENT – B1136

The Police Department is requesting to purchase 44 ballistic vests.  In time these vests break down due to heat and moisture.  The manufacturer’s effective dates on the present vests have expired and need to be replaced.  The low bids from Southern Uniform, the two from Alamar Uniforms, Ed Roehr Safety Products and OMB Express Police Supply do not meet the required specifications.  The next low bid from Simmons Law Enforcement does meet the specifications.

The purchase for the vests was approved in the 2011 budgeting process.
