RE:               Purchase of Sports Field Mowers

Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to replace a mowing unit that is used to mow the playing surfaces of the athletic fields at the Youth Sports Complex. This equipment is used daily to maintain the turf on the baseball, softball, soccer and football fields. The mower being replaced is a 2005 unit that has become unreliable for daily use. The new unit will be purchased by using the National IPA purchase contract agreement at a total of $18,796.03

 

Funding

Funds were budgeted for this purchase in the 2011 Parks & Recreation General Fund Budget.

 

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to purchase a new mower from Professional Turf Products at a purchase price of $18,795.03. This price includes the trade-in of the 2005 unit.
