RE:	9^th Street,  Kentucky to Tennessee

Background:

Earlier this year the City received a safety grant in the amount of $175,000 from KDOT for improvements to the signalization at 9^th & Tennessee.  City staff believes that a left-turn lane at Kentucky is needed as well.

Project Description:

The project would widen 9^th Street between Kentucky and Tennessee to accommodate a left-turn lane.  Some on street parking may need to be removed.  The project will include new signals at 9^th & Tennessee, mill and overlay, and restriping.  The total project cost is estimated at $300,000; the City’s portion would be $125,000.  Resolution 6927 authorizes the issuance of General Obligation Bonds for improvements to main trafficways.

Action:  Adopt Resolution 6927.
