RE: |
Use of Lot by antique auto group
|
Georg Lauppe has requested the use of 30 parking spaces in Lot 10 (1000 block of Vermont) on Friday, September 2, 2011, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The parking spaces would be used by an antique automobile group (The Horseless Carriage Club from Wichita) that would be visiting downtown Lawrence for lunch, shopping, and a visit to Watkins Museum.
The 2010 parking report produced by the Police Department showed that there are approximately 64 parking spaces in Lot 10, and that on average it is 36% full on weekday mornings and 48% full on weekday afternoons. As the lot seems to have adequate capacity for this use, and the use would be by visiting customers of retail and restaurants downtown, staff recommends approval of the request.
ACTION: Approve a request for the use of 30 parking spaces in Lot 10 on Friday, September 2, 2011, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. by the Horseless Carriage Club.
