Set a Bid Opening Date of July 5, 2011 for Bid No.B1132; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drive Replacement.

Project History/Status

The Kaw Water Treatment Plant currently has five basins that have sludge collection equipment. Two of the drive mechanisms were replaced last year as part of the O&M budget. The 2011 O&M budget has funds to replace one drive. The remaining equipment needing replacement is over twenty years old and has needed repair several times. These sludge collector drives are currently in use at the Kaw Water Treatment Plant and have exceeded their serviceable life. Utilities staff have developed bidding and construction documents for the sole source of a drive mechanism from the same manufacturer as last year to maintain consistency of equipment. However the installation can be competitively bid by any contractor. These documents are now complete and the project is ready to advertise for bidding.

Project Funding: 

The project will be funded from the 2011 Operations and Maintenance budget 501.7.7220.6034.

Action Request:  Set a Bid Opening Date of July 5, 2011 for Bid No. B1132; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drive Replacement.
