RE:	SUP-12-10-10; Lawrence Community Shelter located at 214 W. 10^th Street.

Please place this report on the next available City Commission agenda.

This Special Use Permit was approved by the City Commission in February 2010 with several conditions. One condition requires the applicant to provide periodic reporting related to fundraising activities.

Loring Henderson, Director of the Lawrence Community Shelter, has provided the attached summary as required by the Conditions of the Special Use Permit for the shelter.

Approval Dates for SUP-12-10-10 (application that replaced SUP-10-10-09/Ordinance 8493)

• February 23, 2011 Planning Commission recommended approval of SUP.
• March 15, 2011 City Commission approved SUP.
• April 5, 2011 Ordinance No. 8493 published.
• April 30, 2012 Expiration of SUP-12-10-10.

Action Requested: Receive report regarding fundraising activity to date.

Summary of Reporting

1^st quarter report September 24, 2010 (considered by City Commission on Oct. 19, 2010)	Fundraising Progress:	Construction progress for Franklin Road Site:
	Funding on target. One-half of the $3,000,000 goal has been raised. Schedule has been set to raise the remaining funds within the next twelve months or less.	Final Drawing completed January 21, 2011 Building permit process completed February 28, 2011 Construction/Renovation completed August 31, 2011
2^nd quarter report January 25, 2011 (considered by City Commission on March 15, 2011)	Funding on target. Three-quarters of the $3,000,000 goal has been raised. Schedule has been set to raise the remaining funds within the next twelve months or less.	Final Drawing completed April 5, 2011 Building permit process completed April 26, 2011 Construction/Renovation completed October 31, 2011 Note:  Report generated prior to court decision dismissing the request to determine impact of covenants on proposed use.
3^rd quarter report January 25, 2011 (considered by City Commission on March 15, 2011)	The capital campaign steering committee is pleased to report that the plan for fundraising is on target. To date, nearly three-quarters of the $3,000,000 goal has been raised through donations or pledges. Due to the recent court decision against the shelter concerning the preferred site for the new permanent facility, fundraising continues but has slowed until a site is confirmed.	Since the finds have not been raised completely and a site for the new facility has not been determined, there is no timeline for construction.
