RE:               Bid date for Broken Arrow Parking Lot Repair

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the June 7th, 2011, meeting:

Set a bid opening date of June 21, 2011, for the repair and resurfacing of the parking lot in Broken Arrow Park.

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to bid the patching and resurfacing of the asphalt parking lot between the shelter house and the ball diamond in Broken Arrow Park (see attached photos). This work would include patching all deteriorated sections of the lot and then installing a 2” asphalt overlay on the entire lot.

Project Funding

It is estimated this project will cost approximately $18,500.  Funding for this project is proposed to come from the Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid opening date of June 21, 2011, for the repair and resurfacing of the parking lot in Broken Arrow Park.
