RESTROOM FACILITY AT YOUTH SPORTS COMPLEX – B1127

The Parks and Recreation Department requests to purchase and install a new precast concrete restroom facility at the south end of the Youth Sports Complex. Currently, the only permanent restrooms are located in the concession stand building at the east end of the complex.  The proposed restroom facility will replace some of the portable restrooms that have been in use since the fields were constructed.

In the past the City has been very successful with the use of precast concrete restroom facilities such as the one in Hobbs Park purchased in 2009.  These units are assembled in a factory and delivered to the site fully constructed. This type of facility is more cost effective and easier to maintain than traditional stick built facilities. This purchase was approved in the 2011 budgeting process.

Recommendation Action: 

Approve the purchase and installation of a new restroom facility at the Youth Sports Complex for the Parks and Recreation Department from RD Johnson for $67,490.00.  (Sales Tax Reserve Fund)
