RE:                  COMPREHENSIVE HOUSING REHABILITATION

 

CITY STAFF PRESENT FOR BID OPENING on February 15, 2011:  Laura Warner, Jonathan Douglass, Jessica Roberts & Tony Hoch.

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

 

1406 New Jersey St.:  The exterior work on the house includes painting the fascia, soffit and window components, video camera the waste lines and GFCI protect an outlet. The interior work includes minor electrical work of replacing light fixtures.  The plumbing work includes connecting a laundry sink correctly and installing a sump pump in the basement.  Interior work also includes an entry door replacement, replacing the garage floor, stabilizing windows and doors and minor painting stabilization due to lead base paint hazards.  The specs include alternates to stabilize the basement walls, replace the driveway, and install an on demand water heater. The house was built in 1955 and Lead Base Paint Hazards have been located so Lead Safe Work Practices are required.

RECOMMENDATION ACTION:

 

1406 New Jersey St.  Reject the bids because the homeowners withdrew from the program due to higher than expected base bids.
