RE:	City Bid No. B1130, Project PW1020:  Bob Billings Parkway – Kasold Drive to Crestline Drive (Westbound Only) Pavement Reconstruction and Pavement Marking Set Bid Date

Please include the following item on the City Commission for consideration at the May 10, 2011 meeting.

Project Description

The project scope is to reconstruct Bob Billings Parkway from Kasold Drive to Crestline Drive, westbound lanes only. The existing curb and gutter, storm sewer and sidewalk will remain.  Construction will include full depth removal of existing pavement, installation of a drainable base with underdrain system and 12” asphalt pavement.  Also included in the project is reconstruction of the entire intersection of Bob Billings and Crestline and installation of a video detection system.

Traffic will be maintained with one lane eastbound and westbound throughout project, and access will be maintained to all adjacent properties.  Construction is anticipated to take 8 weeks and conclude by August 12, 2011.

Project Funding

Engineering design and preparation of plans and construction documents were performed in-house by city staff.  The project will be funded with General Obligation Bonds from Resolution No. 6891.

Authorize staff to set the Bid Opening Date on May 24, 2011 for PW1020: Bob Billings Parkway – Kasold Drive to Crestline Drive.
