The Building Safety Division issued 196 building permits in April, with total construction for the month valued at $5,536,213. Total permit fees assessed for the month were $53,111. Monthly and year to date comparisons to previous years will be tracked throughout 2011 in the following table:

There were 14 permits issued for new residential construction in April, all of which were for single-family dwellings. Permits were issued for 29 new residential projects in April last year, 26 for single-family dwellings and three for duplexes. The highest valued project for the month was for a building remodel and building systems upgrades at Plastikon Industries, 3780 Greenway Circle, valued at $800,000. There was one public project, for replacement of radiology equipment at LMH, 325 Maine, valued at $99,000.
