ORDINANCE NO. 8633

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to City of Lawrence Code Section 4-105(E), the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply on the 900 block of New Hampshire Street from noon, May 27, 2011 through 1:00 p.m. May 28, 2011, associated with the Arts Center Street P’Arty; on Vermont Street from South Park Street to 12^th Street from 5:00 p.m. – midnight on June 24, 2011 and June 25, 2011, associated with the St John Mexican Fiesta; on the 700 and 800 blocks of New Hampshire Street and the 100 and 200 blocks of E 8th Street from 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on July 1, 2011 associated with the Tour of Lawrence; on the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Massachusetts Street as well as 8th Street and 9th Street from Vermont Street to New Hampshire Street from noon – 9:00 p.m. on July 3, 2011, associated with the Tour of Lawrence; and on Massachusetts Street between North Park Street and South Park Street from 9:00 a.m., September 17, 2011 through 2:00 a.m., September 18, 2011 associated with the KC MS 150; provided the sale, possession and consumption are pursuant to City of Lawrence and State of Kansas law.

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
