The Kansas statewide Point-In-Time homeless count was conducted on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Planning and Development Services Department staff partnered with the Lawrence Community Shelter, Bert Nash Homeless Outreach Workers, USD 497, The Salvation Army, Family Promise, The Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority and other community partners to conduct the count for Lawrence and Douglas County.
This count utilized a statewide survey tool and was a joint effort between the five Continua of Care in the State of Kansas, including Sedgwick, Shawnee, Wyandotte, Johnson counties, and the Balance of State, (101 counties including Douglas County). The results have been tabulated and released. Attached is the count for the City of Lawrence and Douglas County as well as an analysis of the count, prepared and reviewed by staff and the Community Commission on Homelessness.
