RE:

Correction to April 26, 2011, City Commission Meeting Minutes

Please post this memo to the May 3, 2011, City Commission Meeting agenda.

Vice Mayor Schumm requested amendment to the April 26, 2011, City Commission meeting minutes to clarify the record of one of his statements. On page 12 of the minutes, in the discussion of the items related to the Dillon’s project, the statement was originally recorded as follows:

“Schumm said his concern with the west elevation was that the building would be right on Massachusetts and the fact that there was no set back made him want the building to the south to be more attractive. The scale of the windows wasn’t right. He said it should be made as attractive as the north end of the building. There was lack of balance and it becomes more of a warehouse look. On this particular façade he would like more detail and interest to balance it across the whole plain.”

The minutes have been amended at Vice Mayor Schumm’s request to read as follows:

“Schumm said his concern with the west elevation was that the building would be right on Massachusetts and the fact that there was no set back made him want the southern portion of the west wall of the building to be more attractive. The scale of the windows wasn’t right. He said it should be made as attractive as the north end of the building. There was lack of balance and it becomes more of a warehouse look. On this particular façade he would like more detail and interest to balance it across the whole plain. The same concern was expressed regarding the south wall near the southwest corner of the building.”

The updated version of the minutes has these changes tracked.
