RE:	T-Mobile’s Request to Install Telecommunications Equipment on the 6th and Kasold Water Tank,  3708 W. 6th Street

T-Mobile Central, LLC, requests authority to lease approximately 368 square feet of the City’s property on and near the 6th and Kasold Water Tower, 3708 W. 6th Street. The request would co-locate new equipment on the existing water tower structure and would locate new ground-mounted equipment in an area north of the tower.

The Planning Department reviewed and administratively approved the site plan, subject to the execution of a Site Agreement.

The Utilities Department reviewed the request and determined that the site has sufficient space to accommodate both the new tower-mounted and ground-mounted equipment. The Utilities Department also suggested several changes to the Site Agreement, which have been incorporated therein.

The Site Agreement, if executed, will permit T-Mobile Central, LLC, to install seven (7) antennas, thirteen (13) lines of coaxial cable, and three (3) amplifiers on the 6th and Kasold Water Tower, 3708 W. 6th Street, and to install ground-mounted equipment in an area, measuring fourteen feet (14’) by twenty-two feet (22’), located to the north of the tower. The lease is for five (5) years, with options to extend said lease an additional ten (10) years. Rent will be $2,000 per month, which amount will increase annually at the rate of 3%.

Action Requested: Staff requests the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to execute a Site Agreement for the Lease of City of Lawrence, Kansas, Property to T-Mobile Central, LLC.
