Text Box: April 12, 2011 Dear City of Lawrence, Several weeks ago we sent you an introductory packet and letter about the American Fallen Warrior Memorial Foundation. In that letter we outlined that we are looking for a piece of property to be donated matching the specs we provided. We have approached other cities including, Topeka, Manhattan, Lawrence, Kansas City, Kansas, Leavenworth and a few private individuals with the same proposal. It has generated a lot of excitement. Several cities have been very receptive to the proposal and have expressed interest in having the AFWM built in their city. Having this memorial in your city means tourism dollars, business and job creation not to mention the legacy and honor it brings. We would like to discuss the possibilities with all interested cities so that we can determine which city can best meets the needs of the memorial and which city will benefit most from having it. Since our last letter we have been moving forward with fundraising and promotion. We have a weekly appearance on Soldier TV/Radio to promote the Foundations Mission and with our National Press Release have given interviews to local and out of state media. We have acquired some major corporate sponsors including CoinForce.com and Briggs Auto. We have scheduled meetings with officials in a couple of the cities and private land owners. We would like to schedule meetings with all cities who have been approached and have interest in this fantastic opportunity. The foundations goal is to have progress to demonstrate on 11-11-11, breaking ground and/or just placing a sign declaring it the future site of the American Fallen Warrior Memorial. Time is of the essence and we would like to hear from you by May 1, 2011 if your city is interested in being a contender for this memorial. If we do not hear from you we will assume your city is not interested in being the home of The American Fallen Warrior Memorial.
