Minutes
Meeting was brought to order at 6:12 pm.
Minutes from the May 5th, 2010 meeting had been provided to all members. Myers made a motion to accept the minutes, King seconded the motion; the motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence
None recognized.
Unfinished Business
Staff made mention that the 2009 IRC and all the 2009 International Codes are in effect, permits issued in 2011 would be subject to the changes.
New Business
Members decided to table the election of Chair and Co-Chair until the entire membership was present.
Staff had been given a directive by his office to pursue the amending of our current by-laws. Some language currently in the by-laws excludes other electrical professionals such as engineers from being members. We have also had some difficulties with folks working for a business in Lawrence but residing outside of the City limits.
Board consensus seemed to reflect that having an engineer on the Board would be very helpful, as it has been in the past.
Myers asked that Westar be contacted to see if they would be able to fill one of the open at large positions. Myers thought their insight would be helpful in the formation of the City code.
Lisher stated that a Westar representative was on the Board at one time and he thought the input would be valuable.
Adjournment
Myers made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Lisher; motion passed unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 6:49 pm.
