RE:	Request for Mayor to sign Letter of Support from the City of Lawrence to have Lawrence designated as a Runner Friendly Community

Please place the following item on the consent agenda for March 15, 2011:

Authorize Mayor Amyx to sign a letter of support for efforts to have Lawrence designated as a Runner Friendly Community.

The City of Lawrence is in receipt of a request from Becky McClure, on behalf of Lawrence’s running club, runLawrence, to seek a letter of support from the Mayor to accompany an application to seek a designation for Lawrence as a Runner Friendly Community.  The request also includes the application Ms. McClure intends to submit to seek the designation.  Staff has drafted a letter of support for the Mayor to sign in support of this effort. 

Requested Action:

Authorize Mayor Amyx to sign a letter of support for efforts to have Lawrence designated as a Runner Friendly Community.
