Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the February 8, 2011 meeting:
On July 26, 2005 the City Commission held a public hearing for the application of Mike and Sheri Nieder, 525 N. 7th, Lawrence, KS, to request the vacation of Perry Street west of N. 7th Street. This section of Perry Street is only 80 ft. deep between Lot 1 and Lot 3, Block 2, in Smith’s Subdivision. Perry Street east of 7th Street was previously vacated in 1981 and the section being requested does not connect to anything. The Nieders’ own the lots on both sides and wanted to use the area for garages for the two houses. Property owners within 200 ft. and all utilities were notified and no issues/concerns were received.
The Order of Vacation of Perry Street was approved but not recorded.
If additional information is needed, please feel free to call.
Action Requested: Authorize Mayor to sign Order of Vacation of Perry Street, west of N. 7th Street in Smith’s Subdivision of North Lawrence.
