A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS
EXPRESSING CONDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE PROPOSED REHABILITATION
OF THE POEHLER BUILDING AT 619 EAST 8TH STREET FOR APARTMENT UNITS AND SUCH AFFORDABLE HOUSING TAX CREDITS AS MAY BE AVAILABLE FROM THE STATE OF KANSAS
RESOLUTION NO. 6916
WHEREAS, the City of Lawrence, Kansas has been informed by Krsnich Investment Group that a housing tax credit application will be filed with the Kansas the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation for the development of affordable rental housing to be located at 619 E. 8th Street, in Lawrence Kansas; and
WHEREAS, this housing development will contain approximately 40 units; and
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to affordable housing needs; and
WHEREAS, the development will be the rehabilitation of structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places;
WHEREAS, the developer may seek additional assistance from the City for the project and that this resolution has no impact concerning that request or assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas that support is hereby expressed for the proposed development of the aforesaid housing development as conceptually outlined by the property owner, subject to city ordinances and the building permit process. This resolution is effective until January 18, 2012. In the event that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is null and void.
