Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests approval to replace two mowers at Eagle Bend Golf Course. This is highly specialized equipment that is used daily to maintain the course. One of the mowers being replaced is a 1999 greens mower and the other is a 2004 bank mower (used to mow mounds around the greens). Both pieces of equipment have had high maintenance costs over the past year and have become unreliable. The new units will be purchased by using cooperative purchase contracts agreements for a total of $52,731.93.

Funding

Funds are available for this purchase in the Golf Course Budget.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to purchase two new mowers for Eagle Bend Golf Course from Professional Turf Products in the amount of $27,882.43, and from John Deere Company in the amount of $24,849.50, for a total of $52,731.93. This price includes the trade-in of the two old units.
