On December 7, 2010 the City of Lawrence opened bids for the following:  

Bid#1067 –  One (1) Front Load Refuse Truck– Public Works Department

Solid Waste equipment is replaced according to our equipment replacement schedule.  The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep.  The cost of repairs has exceeded the purchase price of the truck.  The price includes a trade-in offer for Unit 419 of $55,000.00 which is at the end of its life cycle.  The Fleet manager feels like this is a good trade in price.  This purchase was approved in the 2010 budgeting process.
