City Public Works staff has been trying to address a stormwater issue on a parcel directly south of the College Motel property.  Grading changes to this parcel located on the northwest corner of 7^th Street and Wisconsin (see attached map) have created stormwater runoff onto adjacent properties.  Public Works Staff has proposed a project that will install a drainage pipe that will carry stormwater off the parcel and into the stormwater system along Wisconsin and 6^th Street. 

In order to construct the improvements – a drainage easement is required.  Public Works staff has not been able to successfully acquire the easement and requests initiation of condemnation proceedings to obtain the needed property interests.

Action Requested:  Adopt Resolution 6913 finding it in the public interest to condemn the required drainage easement and preparation of a survey.
