New York Street, Brick Street Reconstruction – Change Orders

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the November 16, 2010 meeting:

Approval of Change Orders for New York Street Project

 

Project Details:

The project included the brick restoration of New York Street from 9th Street south to 12th Street.  Included with this project is reconstruction of intersections on New York Street at 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th St.

Change orders for the project included: installing new stone curb in the 1200 block of New York instead of concrete curb and gutter, asphalt oil adjustments for oil increases each month the asphalt base was installed, and costs with salvaging additional bricks.

 

Project Funding:

This is an ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) funded project. The project is a reimbursable grant paid up front by the city and reimbursed 100% by KDOT with no city funds up to the award amount of $946,827.75.

$576,842.00

Change Orders

$51,460.32

TOTAL PROJECT COST

$628,302.32

 

The final project cost is under the award amount and all change orders will be reimbursed 100% by KDOT.

 

Action Request:

Public Works staff requests approval of Change Orders in the amount of $51,460.32.
