Please include the following item on the next available City Commission agenda:
Description
The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests approval to replace one of its two forestry brush chippers. These chippers are used daily by the forestry division as part of its maintenance program on the City’s right-of-way trees. The new unit will replace a similar unit that has been in service since 1999. This make and model of chipper can be purchased from the HGAC cooperative purchase contract for $33,164.65. However, our area distributer can provide the same equipment for $32,964.82 ($199.83 less).
Funding
Funds are available for this purchase in the 216 budget. This budget is fund by alcohol tax.
Action Request
The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to purchase a new Brush Bandit Forestry Chipper from Vegetation Management Supply for a price of $32,964.82. This price includes the trade-in of the current 1999 unit.
