ONE (1) 80 KW Portable Generator – Utility Department – Bid#1055 |
The Utility Department requested bids for a trailer mounted 80KW generator. This generator will be used to power lift stations around the city during power outages.
The current generator (unit 260) has become too unreliable to continue using in this capacity. It has been in service for the past sixteen years and will be moved to a less demanding job.
This purchase was approved in the 2010 budgeting process. The following bids were received. The low bidder Hertz Equipment withdrew due to an error in their calculations.

Recommendation Action:
Award bid for one (1) trailer mounted generator for the Utility Department to Logan Contractors Supply for $30,700.00. This is a demonstrator unit with only 68 hours of operation on it. It has been inspected by the Utility Department and Central Maintenance. (Utilities/Collections)
