Please include the following item on the City Commission Agenda for consideration at the October 26, 2010 meeting:

Set a Bid Opening Date of November 23, 2010 for Bid No. B1064; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drives Replacement.

Project History/Status

The Kaw Water Treatment Plant currently has five basins that have sludge collection equipment.  This equipment is now over twenty years old and has needed repair several times.  The current plan is to replace two of these drive mechanisms per year for the next two years and one in the third year.  These sludge collector drives are currently in use at the Kaw Water Treatment Plant and have exceeded their serviceable life. Utilities staff have developed bidding and construction documents for the purchase and installation of two new drive mechanisms for this location. These documents are now complete and the project is ready to advertise for bidding.

Project Funding: 

The project will be funded from the 2010 Operations and Maintenance budget 501.7.7220.6034.

Action Request:  Set a Bid Opening Date of November 23, 2010 for Bid No. B1064; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drives Replacement.
