RE:	September 2010 Monthly Permit Report

There were 194 permits issued in September, compared to 167 permits issued in September 2009.  Permit valuation was $17,423,379 compared to $2,774,787 last year.  Fees were $96,995.96 for September versus $26,037.30 a year ago.  Statistics for total permit valuation and fees will be tracked throughout the year in the following table:

Permits were issued for 30 new single-family dwellings and one duplex last month.  This compares to four permits issued for new single-family dwellings and three duplexes in September last year.  The year-to-date total number of permits and total number of residential units will be tracked throughout the year in the following table, similar to permit valuation and fees:

There were no permits issued for publicly funded projects in September.  The highest valued projects for the month were:

Lawrence Retirement Residence, new 124 suite retirement facility - 4430 Bauer Farm Drive - $9,455,526

Del Monte Foods, HVAC upgrades - 727 N. Iowa Street - $622,900

Dunkin Donuts, new restaurant, 1400 W. 6^th Street - $494,191

The thirty permits issued for new single-family dwellings accounted for $5,238,209 in permit valuation for September.  Additionally, this is the most permits issued for new single-family dwellings in a one-month period since 31 permits were issued in June 2006.
