RE:	6^th and Wakarusa Plan Chronology

Commissioners,

Planning staff provided the following brief chronology of the long-range planning efforts for the 6^th and Wakarusa Area.

• Mid-to late 1990’s- Horizon 2020 Map 3-2 (designates commercial on northeast corner of 6^th and Wakarusa and the rest of the Bauer Farm site for office on the future land use map).

• 1997 – Northwest Plan (designated for commercial on northeast corner of 6^th and Wakarusa, office for what would be the middle of Bauer Farm, and institutional on northwest corner of 6^th and Folks).

• 2003 – 6^th and Wakarusa Area Plan (designates commercial [non-retail focus, mixed-use, pedestrian friendly, 62,000 sq ft cap] for northeast corner of 6^th and Wakarusa, and the rest of Bauer Farm for multi-family residential).

• 2003 and 2004 – Horizon 2020 (Chapter 6 was amended to reflect the land use designations from the 6^th and Wakarusa Area Plan, this also included a full chapter re-write.
