RE:               Bid date for Master Street Tree Project

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the October 5th, 2010 meeting:

Set a bid opening date of October 26, 2010, for the 2010 Master Street Tree Project.

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests the bidding of contracted planting of 208 street trees. These trees are part of the City’s Master Street Tree Program, where property developers pay the City to install trees on newly developed properties. The successful bidder will plant these trees over the next 4- 6 months.   

Project Funding

It is estimated that the total of this project will be $37,000 -$47,000 and will be funded using the fees collected from property developers.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of October 26, 2010, for the 2010 Master Street Tree Project.
