June 2010 Monthly Permit Report

 

 

There were 232 permits issued in June, compared to 192 permits issued in June 2009. This was the most permits issued in a single month since July 2008. Permit valuation was $4,137,672 compared to $6,506,035 last year.  Fees were $41,357.95 for June versus $53,086.15 a year ago. Statistics for total permit valuation and fees will be tracked throughout the year in the following table:

Permits were issued for four new single-family dwellings and one duplex last month. This compares to six permits issued for new single-family dwellings along with one duplex in June last year.  The year-to-date total number of permits and total number of residential units will be tracked throughout the year in the following table, similar to permit valuation and fees:

Two permits, with total valuation of $670,000 were issued for construction of concessions and restroom facilities, and a press box, at Lawrence High School to upgrade athletic facilities.  Other significant projects for the month included the construction of a new MacDonald’s restaurant at 901 W. 23rd Street, valued at $460,000, replacement of a retaining wall at Wal-Mart, 550 Congressional Dr, valued at $426,000, and an interior renovation at 825 Massachusetts Street valued at $400,000.
