Background
On August 3, 2009, the Traffic Safety Commission heard a request to establish YIELD signs on Pleasant Street at 4th Street. The request was submitted by a resident of the area. Both 4th Street and Pleasant Street are local streets in a residential area and this is the only uncontrolled 4-way intersection in the immediate area. However, there have not been any reported crashes at the intersection during the past 10 years.
Traffic Safety Commission Action
No one from the public appeared before the Traffic Safety Commission to speak to this item and there was very limited commission discussion. A motion to recommend the installation of YIELD signs on Pleasant Street at 4th Street failed 2-3; however, the commission did not vote to deny the request.
Action Request
Establish YIELD signs on Pleasant Street at 4th Street if appropriate.
