Call meeting to order.

 

Dillon called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

 

Introductions.

 

The Board Members introduced themselves.

 

Approve the October 21, 2009 minutes.

 

Burd made a motion to approve the minutes. Breithaupt second the motion, the motion passed 3-0. Chaney was not present at the time of this vote.

 

Review Process of 2009 International Codes.

 

The Board discussed the ordinance that requires the vent size to equal the sewer size and determined that the present ordinance was satisfactory. The Board finished their review of Chapter 31 of the International Residential Code with no amendments or changes to the ordinance.

 

The Board continued with Chapter 32. Burd began the discussion with Section 3201.2 asking if the requirement for a deep seal trap or trap primer be omitted from the code.

 

Breithaupt stated that he would be for omitting the requirement.

 

Chaney stated that there other places that have an issue with trap water evaporating but he did not know of an issue in this area.

 

Briethaupt made a motion to delete “Traps for floor drains shall be fitted with a trap primer or shall be of the deep seal design. Trap seal primer valves shall connect to the trap at a point above the level of the trap seal.” from Section 3201.2. Burd second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.  

 

The Board continued with Chapter 32 and 33 with no other amendments.

Chaney wanted to know if once the other trade boards where done with the IRC (International Residential Code) ordinance, would the Board receive a copy before it was sent to the City Commission.

 

Staff replied that the Board would review the final draft of the IRC ordinance before it is sent to the City Commission.  

 

Adjourn

 

With no other business Breithaupt made a motion to adjourn. Chaney second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.

 

Dillon adjourned the meeting at 5:05 p.m.
