RE:

Blue Goose Scorecard Agreement

Please consider the following item for placement on the Consent Agenda for the June 1, 2010 City Commission Meeting:

Authorize City Manager to enter into agreement with Blue Goose Golf, LLC for provision of scorecards and yardage booklets at no charge.

Golf Division staff have been working with a representative of Blue Goose, exploring the possibility of that firm printing scorecards and yardage booklets in exchange for the placement of advertisements on the booklet.

This is the first time staff has been approached by a vendor to provide the scorecards and yardage booklets.   It is estimated that printing by Blue Goose with advertising could save the division $1,600 in printing charges for the scorecards this year.

This is a recommended one-year contract to determine the success of such a situation.  After a year of Blue Goose providing scorecards and yardage booklets, staff will review the process and determine if it is in the City’s interest to continue such a relationship.

By contract, Blue Goose will provide Eagle Bend scorecards and yardage booklets at no cost. In exchange, Eagle Bend will not sell the booklets. Eagle Bend may order up to 24,000 copies.  Once the contract is signed, Eagle Bend will place an order of 10,000 copies.  In exchange, Blue Goose will sell advertisements that will appear on the scorecards.  The City reserves the right to refuse any advertisements and has final approval of all advertisements scheduled to appear in the booklets.

Scott Miller, city staff attorney, has reviewed and approved the attached contract.
