Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act Update

Legal staff has completed a thorough analysis of the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act.  A table comparing the state law and our local laws regulating smoking in enclosed places has been prepared and placed on the Future Agenda Items memo.  A staff report outlining options for the City Commission to consider will be posted on the Future Agenda Items memo in the coming days.  Staff recommends a discussion of the smoking regulations be scheduled in early June so that any changes to our local ordinances can be enacted and effective prior to July 1, the effective date of the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act.
