On April 27, 2010 the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

Project Details: The project includes a 2” mill and overlay of 23rd Street from west of Haskell Avenue to the east city limits. Also included is full depth patching, pavement marking and the installation of a video detection system at the intersection of Haskell Avenue.
Project Schedule: Construction is planned to begin late May/early June, shortly after the contract is signed. Depending on weather conditions, the project is expected to be completed in 2-3 weeks after starting construction. The contractor will notify neighboring businesses prior to work.
Project Funding: The maximum State participation in the cost of construction is $200,000. The City’s share will be paid from GO Bonds ($350,000; see Resolution 6824) and $50,000 is budgeted in the street maintenance budget (acct 212-4-4800-6041).
Action Request. Approve bid from Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc. for Project PW1001, KLINK 23rd Street (K-10) – from west of Haskell Avenue to the east city limits in the amount of $570,420.05 provided the contractor can meet the terms established in the contract documents.
