Aviation Advisory Board Minutes

March 22, 2010

MEMBERS PRESENT:	Theresa Gordzica, Richard Haig, Tom Kern, Gary Fish, Bob Newton & Stan Sneegas
MEMBERS ABSENT:	Tom Rainbolt
STAFF PRESENT:	Chuck Soules, Steve Bennett, Roger Zalneraitis, Mark Thiel & Diane Stoddard
PUBLIC PRESENT:	Lloyd Hetrick – FBO, Steven Benson – Coffman Assoc., Mike Dmyterko – Coffman Assoc., Patrick Taylor – Coffman Assoc., David Hamby – B&M,  Robert Crain – B&M, Dave Hadel – BG Consultants, Rick Bryant – ADG, Jim Sirhall – ADG , & Dana Hartshorn- ADG

Richard Haig called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

1. Review and approval of February 3, 2010 meeting minutes

The February 3, 2010 Board Meeting minutes were reviewed.  Theresa Gordzica moved and Stan Sneegas seconded the motion to approve the minutes.  Motion passed by a vote of 6-0.

2. Airport Manager’s Report

Chuck Soules introduced the three candidates responding to the City’s Request for the Airport Master Plan.

Coffman Associates went first and presented their qualifications.  They were followed by Burns & McDonnell teamed with BG Consultants, Inc. and followed by the Airport Development Group teamed with Land Plan Engineering, PA.  After the presentations the Board and staff discussed the vendor’s qualifications and tallied the rating sheets.  Theresa Gordzica moved and Stan Sneegas seconded the motion to recommend that the City of Lawrence contract with Coffman Associates for the preparation of the Airport Master Plan subject to a favorable review of their references.  Motion passed by a vote of 6-0.

3. Miscellaneous

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:25 p.m.
