Sertoma Club’s Request to Sell Alcoholic Beverages at Broken Arrow Park

 

 

The Sertoma Club of Lawrence is planning a BBQ fundraiser at Broken Arrow Park on May 7th and 8th, 2010. The club is requesting approval to sell alcoholic beverages at the fundraiser and for attendees to possess and consume these beverages at the park. The club is in the process of obtaining a temporary license from the Alcohol Beverage Control and a temporary city license through our office for this event.

 

Because the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in Broken Arrow Park, an ordinance allowing the temporary sale, possession and consumption is required.  I have attached a copy of Ordinance No. 8520 for consideration and approval. This ordinance, if adopted, would allow the temporary sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages on May 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and May 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
