ORDINANCE NO.  8509

AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY PURSUANT TO SECTION 4-105 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS PURSUANT TO A SIDEWALK DINING AND HOSPITALITY LICENSE FOR  715, 715 Massachusetts

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

Section 1.        From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in the public right of way described as follows:  

 BEGINNING FROM THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF MASSACHUSETTS ST SOUTH ½  LT 27 thence ,leaving said corner, eastwardly PERPENDICULAR TO THE EAST LINE OF  MASSACHUSETTS ST SOUTH ½ LT 27,  6 FEET 2 INCHES, thence southwardly PARALLEL TO EAST LINE OF MASSACHUSETTS ST SOUTH ½ LT 27 to the south line of the SOUTH ½ LT 27 6 FEET 2 INCHES from the SOUTHEAST CORNER of MASSACHUSETTS ST SOUTH ½ LT 27, thence westwardly to the SOUTHEAST CORNER of MASSACHUSETTS ST S ½ LT 27, THENCE TO THE POINT OF TRUE BEGINNING

all pursuant to Section 4-105 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2009 Edition. Provided, that the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on the above described property shall be pursuant to all applicable State and City laws, including but not limited to the requirements of the sidewalk dining license granted for the property.

Section 2.         This ordinance shall be effective from and after its publication as provided by law.
