ORDINANCE NO. 8502

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE SALE, POSSESSION, AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to Code Section 4-105(E) of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2009 Edition, the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply to the area generally described as the south half of the 600 block of Massachusetts Street, the north half of the 700 block of Massachusetts Street, and to the portion of 7^th Street bounded by the alleys immediately east and west of Massachusetts Street, on July 2, 2010, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and midnight; and shall not apply to the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Massachusetts Street, and the portions of 8^th and 9^th Streets between Vermont Street and New Hampshire Street, on July 4, 2010, between the hours of noon and 9:00 p.m.; related to the Tour of Lawrence events, provided the sale, possession and consumption are otherwise pursuant to City and State alcoholic beverage licensing laws and regulations.  

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
