ONE (1) SINGLE AXLE TRUCK –  PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT – #B1014

The Public Works, Street Division requested bids for a single axle truck.  The truck will be used by the Storm Water Division for hauling dirt and rock.  It will also be mounted with a plow and spreader and used for snow removal in the winter.  It will replace Unit 322, a 1993 truck with high mileage and maintenance costs that is at the end of its service life as a front line snow truck.

The low bid from Diamond International does not meet the City’s required specifications, the torque is too low, therefore we recommend the second low bid from Diamond International that meets the City’s specifications.  This purchase was approved in the 2010 budgeting process.
