Please include the following item on the City Commission Agenda for consideration at the March 2, 2010 meeting:

Background Information:

Public Works is requesting to purchase one skid steer loader from the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) cooperative contract.  This contract works the same as a State contract except it is administered by Mid America Regional Council (MARC). This purchase request was approved by the City Commission February 09, 2010.

Current Status:

The skid steer loader can be purchased from the (HGAC) contract for $42,414.00. Delivering dealer would be K.C. Bobcat. Staff have reviewed the contracts and determined this is the most cost effective way to proceed with this purchase.

Funding:

Funding for capital equipment was approved during the 2010 budget process of $160,000.00 for Street division in fund 214-3800 (Gas Tax).

Action Request:

Approve purchase for one skid steer loader for the Public Works Department from K.C. Bobcat for the HGAC cooperative contract price of $42,414.00.
