RE:	Esquina Sidewalk Dining and Hospitality License

Esquina LLC, d/b/a Esquina, 801 Massachusetts Street, has recently applied for a Sidewalk Dining and Hospitality License and has submitted all required documents. The related site plan (SP-12-54-09) is also on the March 2, 2010 consent agenda. The applicant has requested that its patrons be allowed to possess and consume alcoholic beverages in the outdoor seating area. Accordingly, attached is Ordinance No. 8495, which would allow possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on the sidewalk dining and hospitality portion of the city right-of-way. 

Staff recommends approval of the site plan and sidewalk dining and hospitality license for Esquina LLC d/b/a Esquina and adoption of the related ordinance.

ACTIONS:      Approve Site Plan SP-12-54-09 for a new restaurant and sidewalk dining area for Esquina, to be located at 801 Massachusetts Street. Submitted by Paul Werner Architects, for Round Corner Inv. LLC, property owner of record.

Approve sidewalk dining and hospitality license for Esquina, 801 Massachusetts Street.  

Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8495, allowing possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on certain city property pursuant to Esquina’s Sidewalk Dining and Hospitality License.
