Please include the following item on the City Commission Agenda for consideration at the February 16, 2010 meeting:
Background Information:
Public Works is requesting to purchase one farm tractor and loader from the State of Kansas cooperative contract. The tractor would be used to mow and remove snow from airport property. The present equipment has high hours and major maintenance issues, and would require extensive repairs before it can be used. This purchase was included on the list of equipment/vehicle purchases authorized by the City Commission on February 9, 2010.
Current Status:
The tractor and loader can be purchased from the Kansas League of Municipalities contract through Heritage Tractor of Lawrence, for $56,354.40. Staff has reviewed the contracts and determined this is the most cost effective way to proceed with this purchase.
Funding:
The 2010 operating budget for the Airport Division of Public Works contains funding for the purchase of the tractor and loader.
Action Request:
Approve purchase for one farm tractor and loader for the Public Works Department from Heritage Tractor Co. for the State of Kansas cooperative contract price of $56,354.40.
