RE:               Bid date for hourly painting services

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the February 9th, 2010 meeting:

Set a bid opening date of February 23, 2010, for hourly rate painting services.

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests the bidding of painting services, to be performed at an hourly rate, in City owned facilities and parks. The successful bidder will be hired as needed to perform small painting project throughout the year.  

Project Funding

It is estimated that the total of these projects throughout the year will equal $25,000 - $30,000 and will be funded using the general fund, sales tax reserve and the alcohol tax.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of February 23rd, 2010, for the hourly painting services.
