RESOLUTION NO. 6875

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, ORDERING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FUND TO THE LIBRARY FUND PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 12-1,118 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO

 

WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, by adoption of Ordinance Number 5652, and pursuant to state statutes, provided for a municipal Capital Improvements Fund to finance in whole or in part any public improvement need set forth in the City’s formally approved multi-year Capital Improvement Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2002 a transfer totaling $200,000 was made to said Capital Improvements Fund from the Library Fund for expansion of the existing facility or establishment of satellite locations of the Lawrence Public Library; and

 

WHEREAS, the Governing Body has determined that a portion of the $200,000 transferred to the Capital Improvements Fund is not needed for the purposes for which it was so budgeted and transferred; and

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

 

SECTION I.  The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.

 

SECTION II.  The Governing Body hereby finds that $80,000 of the $200,000 transferred in 2002 to the Capital Improvements Fund from the Library Fund is not needed for the purposes for which said funds were so budgeted or transferred. 

 

SECTION III.  The Governing Body authorizes the transfer of $80,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund to the Library Fund pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1,118(d), and amendments thereto for the 2010 budget year.
