The Development Services Division issued 172 permits with total construction value of $5,510,022 in December 2009 compared to 147 permits valued at $2,506,365 in December of 2008. Fees amounted to $46,091.60 compared to $27,817.40 last year. The total valuation and fees for 2009, with 2008 totals for comparison are in the following table:

Ten permits were issued for single-family dwellings along with eight permits for duplexes in December, compared to five single-family and no duplexes in December last year. No permits were issued for multi-family dwellings for December in 2009 or 2008. The total number of permits and total number of residential units for 2009, with 2008 totals for comparison, are in the following table:

Permits were issued for two public sector projects in December:
The two highest valued permits for December were both for projects at 1705 Lake Alvamar Drive; an addition to the primary dwelling valued at $492,000, and a new guest house/pool house valued at $307,800.
