TREE TRIMMING SERVICE – PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – #B09077

Parks and Recreation requested bids for hourly rates for tree trimming service. The bid is for emergency work as well as routine work throughout the year. Custom Tree Care provided the lowest hourly rate in most categories and the best response time. Response time is a major factor in the bid. The bid was also written to be renewed for two additional years providing prices remain the same, both parties agree and funds are available.
Parks and Recreation estimated there could be up to $44,000 spent on emergency tree trimming and routine work. This service is budgeted out of Parks and Recreation’s Forestry Division account and was approved in the 2010 budgeting process.
The local preference does not affect the bid recommendation.
Recommendation Action:
Award bid for hourly rate for tree trimming service for the Parks and Recreation Department for to Custom Tree Care, not to exceed $44,000.00 (Parks and Recreation/Forestry)
