RE:	Board Term extension

Staff would like to respectfully request an extension of the term for Mike Porter on the Building Code Board of Appeals (BCBA). The BCBA is currently in the process of reviewing the 2009 International Building Code series (I-Codes) for adoption. Mr. Porter had a significant role in the review of the currently adopted building codes and in his current role of chairperson has provided leadership, experience and invaluable input in review of the 2009 I-Codes. Staff feels that replacing Mr. Porter at this point would be a setback for the timely review and adoption of the 2009 I-Codes. Mr. Porter’s term expired in November of this year. Mr. Porter has volunteered to extend his term through the adoption process. Staff anticipates completion of the review process by July of 2010.
